A meeting was conducted in Tsetserleg, Arkhangai Province, and Dadal sum, KhentiiProvince, from October 2-4 and October 7-9, 2024, respectively. The focus was on developing essential rules, regulations, and standards to enhance the use and ownership of equipment and assets provided by state and project grant funds to the Specially Protected Areas Protection Administration, supported by the “Biodiversity and adaptation to climate change project”.
The event brought together 96 participants, including employees from the Specially Protected Area Protection Administration, accountants, research analysts, natural resource protection specialists, and database experts. They shared their experiences and discussed current challenges in their roles.
E. Battulga, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, participated in the meetings for the Khangai and Western regions. D. Battsog, Head of the Department of Implementation of the Specially Protected Areas Policy, attended the consultations for the eastern and central regions. The government and ministries presented policies and strategies aimed at improving management and financing of specially protected areas, outlining future measures based on the discussions.
Notably, Mr. Helmut Kulitz, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Mongolia, along with Economic Adviser Udo Weiber, contributed to the consultations on "Improving the Use and Ownership of Equipment and Assets by the State Specially Protected Areas Administration." This session took place at the Information, Training, and Research Regional Center in the Khangai region.
